I’m Jay. I am a furniture ARTIST as well as the designer and craftsman at LCO Furniture. I’ve run a small private shop in Chicago, Illinois since 2016, producing unique pieces for both residential and small business owner clientele. Aesthetically, I focus on simple and ageless design, yet modern with crisp profiles. I am inspired by Scandinavian and Japanese design with the occasional nod to the American Arts and Crafts era. With a meticulous eye, I approach every process from design to finish with an intense attention to detail and the Joinery is always solid as it is the foundation for any great piece of furniture.

My mission is simple. I work closely with each client to carefully assess their needs and wishes so I can design a piece of furniture specifically for their unique space. I select each board of timber with a careful eye and consideration for the final product. I build each piece with my own hands from the ground up. The end result is timelessly designed, solid furnishings that will likely outlast all of us!

My methods of fabrication are interesting in that they are not entirely “normal.” I treat furniture like writing a song. I have a firm idea and aesthetic in mind and as the the piece takes shape, I allow for adjustments and slight design alterations throughout the process so it can become the beautiful, one of a kind feature it was intended to be. Uniquely yours. For you and only you.

In addition to fine furniture, I offer custom art and picture framing, bathroom vanities, built-in cabinetry, banquette seating and shelving!
